Plenty of sunshine for Day Two--Water Triple

Good morning--a slightly warmer day is forecast and currently everyone is busily readying the third series test site. More to come soon.

Here's a sample of the panoramic views we're treated to this week...

Folks mingling and approaching the line...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Both Test Dogs Handle...

On this triple with a short retired on the right, an out of order flyer up the middle and a dead retired bird on the left also retired, birds across a channel, both test dogs handled. More again soon. The order is right, middle, left and when dogs are sent they enter a channel and lose sight of the birds. The left-hand bird is 175 yards, the flyer is 225 yards, and the right bird is 110 yards. I'm going to tell you an interesting thing about that shortly--stay tuned.

A view of handlers and workers watching the test dogs

Andy Kahn watches as test dog Cutter swims toward the right-hand retired.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First dog to the line at 8:07 a.m.

And #95, Buttons, with Mac DuBose rounded them up nicely, picking them up from left to right around the horn. Then, #96, Bo with Robert Hayden, had quite a hunt on the left bird.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gun Change after Dog #6

...just so you know.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Third dog on line at 8:30 a.m.

...and Viggi, #97, with Len Rentel, handled on the left bird, picking it up last.

...leaving the line...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A drawing of the test will be up as soon as possible on Report

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Second handle of the morning

for #101, Sailor, and T. J. Lindbloom.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Third handle of the day...

A pop behind the flyer gun produced a handle for #103, Lucky, with Kate Simonds

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Handle for #107...

...on the left-hand bird, for Razor and Brad Bellmore

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And #108 handles on second bird sent...

Boo went tight to but through the left converging retired bird and picked up the flyer. When sent for the left bird again a handle was required to recover the bird from deep and left of the holding blind. Boo now has the third bird in mouth.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, Jerry Lee gets a no-bird...

This is #109 with Lynne DuBose. Her flyer sailed way out to basically overlap the left retired fall.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Handle for Missy and Arnie...

#111, on the left hand retired from left of the blind...

Here's MISSY!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chevy Figures it out...

He was headed into trouble territory--or so it seemed--but just behind the left blind he checked up and zoomed over to his bird.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And another Handle, this one is on #1...

Deep and fence-bound, Zoom needed help to come back in to the left-hand bird...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Word on Photos and Material if you please, from me...

Please refresh throughout the day to find additional photos added whenever possible. Many photos are still to be added to yesterday's material, as well as Saturday's (with more text) as we hope the database problem has been resolved. Thanks!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Handle for #4...

Hank and Chilton Miles, on the left hand bird, as the dog went outside the left bird to the right and deep into the flyer.

Jerry Lee Puttin' on the Ritz...on her rerun

She pulled out the left retired first, right retired second and flyer last in excellent fashion.

Birdy Showed her Stuff...

...Picking up left, right, flyer in nice shape just before the gun change...

Stampede...

...to the line during gun change break...

After the Gun Change... some good jobs and hunts...

Here is Steve Bechtel with #10, Cash, getting ready for marks

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now a Right-Hand Bird Handle for #11--PICKUP

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Handle for Cutter on Flyer

#12, Cutter picked up the left bird, had a substantial hunt on the right bird and then had to handle from far left to the flyer.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Nice Streak of Three

Beginning with #13, Missy and Blue; then #14, Dash and Lanier, and third with three remarkable marks, #15, Grady and Chad

Blue, #13, is launched for his last bird.

Dash, #14, has Lanier's leash on her mind after retrieving three birds

Here, Chad Baker eyes Grady as he swims toward the right-hand bird.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Handle on the flyer--#16...

Jester and Gerald Bailey

Here, Team #16 waits in the holding blind to run
